I am looking to get some dredging time. I once owned a 4" in NE Georgia but moved to Myrtle Beach in 1999 and sold it. Been fishing ever since but am getting the bug for gold again. Just looking to help out with your expenses and maybe add a few flakes to my collection. I have dive gear and a 36 year old back. I am about 2.5 hours from troy and would like to get with the guys at El Dorado. I am a firefighter and have lots of leave time saved up. Thanks, Ryan Werner.

If you're a firefighter, then get on the USFS team. Then you'll be shipped out to where the big fires burn in the west. Now when you get here, we have plenty of dredges available if you can get time to do it. We had 70+ fires going within 20 miles of where I was dredging. Most went into the "Panther" fire which got within 3 miles of where I was dredging. Biggest worry we had was the copter dipping into the river and scooping up one of us. They finally closed off a section of the river where it was most convienent for them to guzzle up some into the cranes and the little ones could dip their nets in for a drink. You can feel the chopper blades when you are underwater, or rather the vibration from them.
Darn fires chase all the bears etc away. We had a total of around 10 or 11 that took up residencey with us and would come out every evening. The camp across the highway had them in every single night. We were more out in the open because of our solar panels and weren't bothered too much until the night before we left when one took a crap right outside our door. That "meadow" muffin was just 3 feet from the steps into the unit. No, I diidn't step into it but came close.
Good year in that we didn't have any rattlers right in camp. (bears probably kept them out.)
We only had one visit this year from a cougar, well, at least that we know of. Lots of otters and a couple of beaver. Have to keep at least 2 front ropes and 1 rear rope onto your dredge cause the otters like to chew on them. Don't leave the gas cans sitting around as it seems that it is on the menu for the bears. At least 4 different guys I know of had them chewed up And Jim Foley had his clean out tub sampled. Bear climbed over all my stuff just to get to his. I tried to convince him that it was because his tub had no odor from gold like mine did. Managed to get one nice salmon and 3 nice steelhead trout.
It is amazing that any salmon or steelheads can even get up river. The indians have about 30 miles of gill nets set up from the mouth upriver. Go down to the mouth and watch the indians do their traditional fishing. Seignning with gill nets and sitting on the bluff and shoot them with rifles.
Oh yea, did I mention that the Klamath/Trinity rivers are the only ones in Kalifornicate that slamon fishing is open on this year? Seems that somebody (liberal enviromentalist)decided that the salmon population is way down. I wonder why. The indians are allowed a "substance" quantity. Guess that's why the sell them on the beach for $4.00 a Lb. They do need the money as the "Panther" fire burnt out 47,000 money making plants ( pot ) and it also burnt out their "nursery" pot plants.
Poor indigent natives, I feel so sorry for them, they may have to go get a job no to make it. Darn I forgot, the gubernuts in Washington will give them some sort of "relief".
