Anyone on here. I am trapped in the work cycle and need to hear some good panning stories to suppress my fever. I will be in AL somewhere setting up a new Santa Fe restaurant the next 2 weekends and I plan on panning the ditch if I can't find a creek.

Ok, I believe the store is in Albertville Al. I know we will be busy as heck setting the store up, but if I see any stream nearby I will pan it even if the Police station has a deck overlooking it.lol

Yes the economy is being crippled by these banks pulling dumb stunts to get any tom *** and harry into a home. NOW WE ARE PAYING FOR IT. I was always suprised how people would just start out at my work and when they'd go to get a house they would be approved for some crazy amount that I know they could never afford. Some bought smart, some dumb, but the situation now points at many of the latter. Couple that with the housing slow down, the banks couldn't sell and recoup. Hindsite is 20/20, but we are paying for it. I am 33 so my 401k will recoup, but I do feel sorry for anyone retiring right now. Good luck, you should see some temporary relief if they approve this 700b dollars, but the govt better get some owenership or else we will carry the burden on our back for their greed. GL

Heck, I would just be happy to see a dry drainage ditch over here.  Not much rain over here on the dryed up salt marsh we live on top of here in the UAE.  Smile [:)]

digi, Albertville is out of the known gold belt in Alabama... You would have to drive around 75 miles to get there... I have heard of some gold being found up towards Huntsville, AL. , But I have never been in that area and don't have a clue as to where to start... Somewhere on the forum is a post by (I think) algolddigger, about a "Christmas Nugget" and he is that area and may be able to give you some good information...

hi digi I have never looked in that area for gold but you never know. Most of the gold that was found in this area was found during or just after the civil and the ones that found it kept it a secret or carried it's location to the grave with them.

if you go south on 431 a few miles past boaz you will go down a mt. there is a creek there that i have always wanted to check out. I haven't figured out why but all the gold I have found around here is always on the south or southeast side of the mt.

P.S.    I WAS JUST TOLD THAT WE ARE GOING TO BE GRANDPARENTS WED.SO NO PROSPECTING THIS WEEKEND.                                                                                                   Garry
