chick, I presume : ? No, nothing bad about the fellow called Twigg. He was referred to me because of his knowledge of metal detectors. As for smelting, only AU. And I am not having a good time at the process. I have good leached ore, but the combination for getting out the .999 'r bullion doesn't seem to want to work. Patience is a virtue. Yeah, sure. How did you get the name of chick, if you don't mind my asking..? Smelter

Twigg: The Electroscope Co in Pa has a unit called The Gravitator Recovery System. The person that gave me your name on this forum said you were probably the first person that I should contact. Do you know anything about ths type of instrument ? Smelter

Okay Chick - here goes:
Gold Seeker says you can help me with Au problems
These are the fluxes that I have tried on my SSHCL and Iodine leached ores.
Actions' Gold /Silver Flux
I. Shor house flux
Hank Chapmans' Gold only flux formula from his manual .
A cleaning-type of equal parts Ammonium Chloride and Charcoal. ( what a stink )
Using oxy/acetylene and cupels from Action.
I do indeed get little beads from time to time, but nothing I can take to the bank. Collector is silver - not lead.
From my browsing this forum, I see that you carry a gold only flux. Perhaps I can send you a sample and you can play with it and see what you come up with. I'll pay - of course. Do you do testing of ores in your lab ?

smelter, I am not familiar with the unit by that name... Do they have a web site? I may recognize it by a photo or by how the process works... There are so many processes out there today... Some are variations of old products and are good products... Others are just produced to make quick money...

smelter, I found a web site that had some information on that unit... It was all bad!!! The person that wrote the article obtained a unit and dismantled it and said that there was no way it could work and was a total waste of money AND that a plain set of dowsing rods would work better... From what I read I would stay away from that unit... BUT that is just my opinion... Anyone else have any information of this unit???

Hey twigg, I bet his gizmo is something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/OMNI-RANGE-MASTER-GOLD-SILVER-OTHER-METALS-MINING_W0QQitemZ320285445938QQcmdZViewItemQQssPageNameZRSS:B:SRCH:US:101 . I'm a severe skeptic of things like this. Smelter, take a look at this thing on e-bay and see if it's close to what you are talking about.

Well, Smelter, I have specialized A) getting gold out of black sands with pyrometallurgically sound lab practices.
B) getting an gold or platinum assay sample out of whatever ore has been brought to me for testing.
I don't test for anyone else anymore. I just work for myself now.
Doing lab work was "something to do" while
the price of gold was low, back about oh, 4-5 years back, and things
were reeeeeeeal slow in the NW part of the USA, in the mining biz.
Now
that the price of gold has doubled in that time, I'm beating them away
from my door with a stick. That's why I came up with a plan to teach
guys and gals who wanted to know, how to:
A) determine what gold or Pt
was in their ore (whether or not it is a sulfide ore), and
B) how to
get the gold out of their blacks sands,
be it the mag fraction
or the non-mag fraction that has their gold tied up, ---->which allows me to still get my own work done (also MORE fun now that the price of gold, silver, platinum, etc., has doubled for me as well.) ![Cool [H]](/forum/emoticons/emotion-11.gif)
It's a kit like you see here on Brian's "Store" page on his site here.
It's a rather inexpensive, renewable solution to helping others, and
still not getting me all tied up doing stuff for others when I'm
enjoying doing for myself and the doubled price of gold and the tripled
price of platinum.
And only those who
buy the kit WITH the teaching CD that comes with it, chock full of my
photos of how I do what I'm teaching y'all how to do, THOSE buyers get
to buy refills, and them only.
If any of this fits what you are wanting to learn, then gimme a shout.
<>If not, then good luck with the experimenting. There's lots
of other wing and a prayer fluxes out on the internet, trust me.
How do I know this? Because not a week passes, that I'm not sent
an email by somebody asking me to fix a mess they made using someone
elses 'recipe." Now, you know why I have a "busted flux" baggie
in my 4 fluxes sampler. LOL
However, it sounds to me after you trying all those other deals, someone somewhere has failed to impart to you the
basics of how to do what you want to do & do it successfully.
Little gold balls are good. But you're right...it takes a lot o'them to make a banker sit up and take notice. ![Big Smile [:D]](/forum/emoticons/emotion-2.gif)
Nice to meet you, and I hope I've answered your questions.

I'll gladly vouch for the fluxes. Especially the corrective one. I had a crucible blocked up from trying an internet flux formula. The stuff never got fluid enough to pour and due to the soda ash content, ruined the crucible. I was a ble to recover a 12g prill of gold alloy with the corrective flux. It would have been more, but like I said, the crucible was ruined.
Save your money on the questionable formula mixes and go with Megan's to begin with. Also check out www.legend-reno.com for crucibles. Go with the clay crucibles, not the graphite.

TL, I looked at the one you mentioned on ebay; doesn't look anything like the recovery unit at Electroscope. Thanks, Smelter

Hi, again, Smelter. Thanks for the comeback.
RE: your electroscope gizmo, I've seen something similar that a good guy on ColoradoProspectors.com forum has, and he swears by it. I think he calls it the "red ant" or something like that. He sent me some pix one time of him demo'ing it in his backyard in Washington state. They call him "Gat" over on that website, and he's GOOD people, like Dan and Denise, the forum webmasters over there.. Drop in, and ask Gat about his unit. He won't part with it for a million bucks, or so he says.
Report back on what you learn about the similarities or dissimilarities if you would be so kind. Twig's SETH forum has a GEM of a "Product Review Section" that would really benefit from such a report.
G/L, Smelter. YC
