We went and talked to the land owner yesterday, and he told me that I could go on his property and look for gold all that I wanted to.but if I were you I would wait untill after DEER season is over,Because he had the land leased to a hunting club.So I think I will wait.I don't want to be up there while there hunting. He also said that a few years ago there was an older feller that dug around up there and found some gold untill his health got to where he couldn't get up there any more.
will keep you posted GARRY
only two more weeks and deer season will be over here in al. Then I can go try out this new place (I getting eager to see whats there) I know that when I get up on the side of the mountain water for my highbanker is going to be a problem so am thinking of making a recurlating system. And after looking at this land on google, I can forsee a problem the land joins tva land which is public land and it has several walking trails on it.So I am thinking of changing highbanker to an electric so it want make any sound. Just in case someone gets noisie and comes up to see what is going on. The less people know the better it will be. Do any of you use an electric system I have no idea what size motor and pump to use. I need all you guys ideas on this. My highbanker is a 4 inch combo so it takes a good water flow.
thanks Garry
WOW... that's alot for a 4". My 4" dredge runs on a 5.5HP with only 275 GPM pump. My 5" Triple only carries an 11HP and a pump that does 475 GPM. If you need quiet... I would look into down sizing to a smaller highbanker, if you have to go electric... that would decrease your need for water and allow you to get by with smaller motors, pumps and batteries... also the smaller you get the more likely it becomes that a solar system could recharge the batteries as they were being drained.
But the best way would probably be to quiet down what you've got. They make mufflers that can be "chained" together end to end, each one making it quieter. But, you have to be careful... each one you add, adds back pressure in the engine.
Another option is to use a "Quiet Muffler" here is a link to some.
