been finding it in the river

hey all. i live near the broad river. ive had a chance to go to a little spot a few times and do some pannig. there is big bed rock in an area and ive found naturaly carved hole in it. some of them are "feet" deep. I classify twice and pan and have found decent flakes. I just get nervouse about big brother. its at a place were the public has access but its still nerve wracking. Ive went 4 or 5 times and found a little each time. still havent cleaned out my originaly found hole. recently saw a few people on other side of river getting ready to go down the banks. this area is a well known and used fishing hole but they had buckets and shovels and waders on..........hmm. maybe the bug is spreading in my area! dont want to give exact place but feel good about finding it on my own and not having to pay to play for it.

I dredge in the Broad. I wouldn't sweat it too much... I dredge within sight of 99 Island Dam. That section of the Broad is classified as "Scenic"... but the South Carolina's "Scenic" classification, does not regulate prospecting as long as it is done with proper permits. (Recreational prospectors are not required to have permits in SC)
I've been doin' so much, with with so little, for so long.... I can do almost anything, with nothing!!!!

MOJO and Dixie,
Good information on the Broad River. I think there are several folks from your areas that are looking for places to wet pan from time to time? How was the dredging Dixie?
