Gold Last Weekend, Silver This Weekend
Reply Quote

Man, I'm on a roll!  Last weekend, my beepin' buddy and I went out and I snagged a gold ring.  This weekend, we both hit silver!

We went to a playground that didn't seem to have been beeped.  His first target turned out to be a wheat pennie.  WOOHOO!  We did pretty good there in clad, then headed over to a school.  The football field was open and we hit the bleachers...him underneath and me in front.  Again, darn good on the clad.  Then a tot lot and I hit a pocket spill for 7 dimes.  While we were there, a guy came out and said we outta hit the old elementary school "between the goal posts" cuz it used to be a big play area.

We headed over there and did some "speed beepin" cuz it was gettin late.  He snagged a .925 silver Indian Chief ring and some clad and I managed some clad and a 1954 silver quarter that had a hole drilled in it for wearing on a necklace!  That's only my second silver coin!!  Unfortunately, the necklace didn't turn up.

So, between the 2 of us, we got over $9 in clad, a silver ring and a silver quarter.  Pretty good for about 4 1/2 hours.....at least for us.  And yep, we gots plans to head back to the first park and "between the goal posts" and hammer those places!  LOL

Kajun

P.S

Sweetie snagged a sweet little gold necklace and a very nice silver necklace at garage sales this weekend.

Did it again this last Monday.....but it was a silver 10 centavos coin from Republica Mexico!  It was so worn on the front, the date is gone and the eagle on the front almost gone.  I figure it was minted somewhere between 1845-1890!  WOWZERS!

Plus, a Sacajawea dollar and 2 wheaties....in addition to almost $10 in coins, a couple of junk rings and some great time spent in the outdoors here where the weather was awesome!
