I used a plug in transformer that's used to recharge built in batteries on small tools.
Max output was 7v and 2100mA.
Connect the ground wire to the object to be cleaned and the positive wire to a stainless steel utensile, such as a spoon.
Submerge to object to be cleaned in a glass container, with a solution of water, a few drops of lemmon juice, and salt.
Bend the spoon, so it'll hang from the rim of the container, and be in the solution. Attach the positive wire to the spoon, outside of the solution.
Plug in the transformer/charger, and wait for tiny bubbles to start comming off the object to be cleaned. You'll know it's working.
The crud will float to the top of the solution, leaving a small amount of clean up to be done to the object you're trying to clean.
This is the easiest way I've found to clean up silver finds, that've been lost on the salt water beaches.
It also works on gold, but be watchful it doesn't desolve the entire piece. I've completely taken off the plating from those Sac Dollars, using this method.
