Letter to the CA Gov.

I stuck my foot in it now. This is a copy I sent to the terminator.

Gov. Schwarzenegger

Budget problems? Instead of cutting the budget as you announced and closing the state parks consider this. If you would do some basic economics your problem will be solved and solve a bunch of the other state problems. This won't make you popular with the bleeding heart liberals and may be political suicide. I pay 23% of my income in California taxes and I for one am tired of having this monkey on my back.
Simply cut off all public funding to illegals, no more budget deficit, isn't that simple enough? You and your family had to wait and to go through the proper channels to come to this country and so I fail to see why it doesn't upset you to sit there and reward illegal activity in the form of government handouts. The budget is over because of all this free handouts and money. Consider tatooing a big C on the forehead of every convicted illegal felon and send them back. Drop their families off the doles and they will leave. Enforce the exsisting laws and start fining the employers. Drop the food stamps, educational, health and schooling benefits. If the incentitives to be here are gone then there will be a mass exodus out of here and we don't have to bus them back. Most will go to other states that favor rewarding illegal activity or go back to where they came from.
Oh I've heard the arguments that they are working and paying taxes, bull!!! The only taxes they pay are sales taxes and most of their income is California's biggest export, and that is cash to Mexico
When will this country wake up and see that the majority of our problems come here illegaly. Drugs and the majority of felons commited, are done by illegals. Is what is so obvious, too obvious to see? Why is it that California leads the country in a lot of things and yet won't step up and secure our border? Too bad we can't adopt Mexico's laws on illegal entry.
Don't be, as you call it, a "girlie boy". Stand up for what is right and quit worrying about being "politically correct". You will be amazed how many of us are behind you.

I'll be darned, I got a reply.

Lee,

Thank you for writing to me and sharing your thoughts on the 2008-09 budget. I value the input I receive from my fellow Californians on how to balance this year's budget. This coming year will test us in very hard ways. We've tackled politically risky things that no one in the past wanted to touch, and to me, this is progress. But now, we must make progress on another problem that's been put off for many years: our spending. We cannot continue to put people through the binge and purge of our budget process. It's not fair; it's not reasonable; it's not in the best interest of anyone. I believe government can work, it can be efficient and it can lead. California has proven this in so many areas including climate change, low carbon fuels, energy efficiency and clean, green technology. But our work has only just begun. If we are going to solve these problems we need to work together to give the people of California what they truly deserve, and your input helps us move towards reaching that goal. As I work with my partners in the Legislature, I will keep your suggestions in mind. I believe we will help turn today's temporary problem into a permanent victory for the people of California. Sincerely,
Arnold Schwarzenegger
