Traded Anita's Goldbug2 for another MXT, yep she went back to the MXT. She never could get the hang of running the GB2 and had gotten it just to hunt gold with and now plans on doing some beachcombing again so out it went. Anyway, I took it out for a trial spin and went out in this 60mph wind to a park over in Victorville just to see if it would be as good as mine. Difference is that mine and her old one, had the DD coil and this one has the stock coil. I'll say this, it sure is easier to center the "target", it'll be right in the hole in the middle of the coil. Going to have to take them both out at the same time so I have the exact same conditions. Seems to me right now that, even tho smaller, the DD coil has greater depth at the same settings.
First find was a childs real silver baby ring then an earring and 3 necklaces. Over to the playground and I got 77 clad coins. OK enough with that cold, cold wind. Coming right off the snow on the surronding mountains. Me and my dog "Buddy"decided to head back to the warmth of home. As I write this, the grapevine ( I-5 ) just closed again for the 4th time this month, due to high winds and snow creating white out conditions. This is not the usaul for So.Cal. Only about 35 miles north of LA. Of course it could be worse, poor Russau lives in St Louis and had a high of 75 and 2 hrs later it was below freezing. Just can't seem to get used to this Gorebal warming. Beginning to be totally convienced the only Hot air is out of his mouth.

Good finds Lee! The 9.5 stock coil is dead on at pinpointing . I just got a new 12 inch spider coil for MXT, it came today. May go out to a local park and try it out this afternoon. It should be ablee to cover alot more ground and gets a little deeper then the 9.5 stock coil.

These coils I have are good enough, I'm not interested in digging a swimming pool or trying to get a shortcut to China
