CarolinaGoldCritter, Sounds like you might have found a good place!!! Not knowing the area, would it be possible to launch a boat somewhere close and tow a dredge to the spot? Just something to think about....

It may be possible there is a bridge down stream a few hundred yards, that I have'nt explored yet, but from the looks of it ,it is even much higher than the banks where I got to the river last time.
I don't know anymore of the land owners in the general area.
A person may possibly put into the river way upstream, if the land is any flatter, and float on down to where I was at the other day.
I guess it's just gonna take some more leg work and scouting around.
Even if I do find a good place to get in, all I have is a large sluice and a shovel. Do you have a dredge or highbanker, and do you know where a man could find a cheap used one ?
I would like to have a 2-3" dredge if I can find one reasonably priced.
Later,
Critter

CarolinaGoldCritter, This time of year used dredges are hard to find at good prices. You might get lucky and find someone that is selling out, like I had to do to pay doctors and medical bills, but if you can hang onto till fall, when It starts getting cold is when you can get a good deal on a used one... Just be careful buying used!!! Some folks will tell you anything to sell it to you!!!

Dixie :
Do you or have you worked with leaching in your career ? Specifically, clay or mud benchs.

If you can't be nice to animals and people (in that order) go back and start again. Be on the lookout for two-legged snakes. Bury all child predators. (Wear gloves).....

I never get lost!, sometimes I might not no where I am, but I never get lost!
I got that from my Dad, we would sometimes get in the car and just GO, up in the North Georgia Mountains and just drive, dirt roads, jeep trails, and always would end up right where my Dad said he thought we would end up , it always amazed me, his sense of direction!!!!
THOSE WHERE THE GOOD OLE DAYS!!!!
