Many close calls for you, but you always get the good pics. Quit prca (tourquoise circuit) '90. too old, don't bounce as high and don't heal as fast. You know Steve Dollarhide and the rest also.
Clint Lamb, Ron Hannah, Roy and Jerry Honeycutt rodeo, (watch out, Jerry will try to sell you one of his washed out bulls)Etenbaur brothers.............. Even tried headin, quit while I still had all my fingers.
I never was any good at it, but can say... been there, done that and ain't goin back..Leave it for the younguns :)

rodeo, I know they are finding some around Plano, TX, in the river!! That may not be spelled right!! I think the GPAA even did a show on the place.. Maybe that will at least get you pointed in the right direction..

That is LLANO, not Plano. Yes, there is gold there. Some of the Louisiana bunch go over now and again. GPAA has shows done in the Llano, TX area. Highbankin' sluicin', dredgin, etc.

Here is a link to their GPAA Chapter.

You might do an IRCA rodeo in Monroe, LA but not in Monterey. Closest rodeo to here is in Jonesville, LA About 20 miles away on Black River. The Sabine River is on the west boundry of LA. Haven't looked at any of the bedrock on the Sabine. They covered up a good portion of it with a little (tongue in cheek) lake called Toledo Bend.

Ever hear of a champion bull rider by the name of Chris Shivers? He is from Jonesville, LA.

Bein' a pilot, I don't see much future in jumpin' out of a perfectly good airplane. Unless of course, it's parked on the tarmac. In my personal opinion, I think ridin' a 1500 pound bull would be sorta like jumpin' outta a perfectly good airplane.  I might live through it if I tried, but you gonna have to catch me and hog tie me on that joker to get me to do it.

My sweet Mama taught me to have a serious respect for dangerous things. LOL. I don't step out in front of Mac trucks either.

I hear people talkin' 'bout you ain't gonna go less'n it is your time. If I stay off that bull, It sure ain't gonna get to kill me. And, I can land that airplane with the power off. But when I jump out of the door- - - - - - - I have lost control. So its darned sure gonna have to be a bonafide (bonafide means genuine, thats pronounced,  gin-you-wine) emergency that requires me to jump to live.

Ain't got nothin' agin some other fellers doin' it, and enjoy the heck out of the clowns, Now them guys got the greatest ego's of all. Ridin' one of them bulls ain't nothin' compared to settin' up a card table and playin' checkers with ol' rip snorter. And, they're out there for the whole game. The riders git to rest awhile after only 'bout 8 seconds at work.

You are so right ,"Its not whether you're gonna get hurt, it's when and how bad" Those boys deserve every nickel they make.

Chris Shivers (Jonesville, La.) Suffered a broken ankle in addition to the broken fibula and tibia he sustained at the Hawaii All Star Challenge. Expected recovery time is three to six months.
