10-01-2006, 7:32 PM jt280z Joined on 05-02-2006 Posts 114 jt280z's Uwaharrie trip 9-30 10-1 06 Nice place up there. I thought I might bump into some of you all up there, but not a grubber in sight. I did meet Mike and Lil from Yadkinville.  Those are some very nice folks. I dredged sat and sun and just got home. Have'nt had time to pan out my cons yet. I did test a couple of pans and found some color in em. I was gonna roll that boulder that someone left exposed, but changed my mind. BTW that land has been sold to a nature conservatory. One of the folks talked to Mike thursday. He said they were gonna let people keep dredgeing. Who knows.?.? might need to go there as much as possible till someone says to stop. My contraption (my home made dredge) worked suprisingly well. I was only gonna stay sat. but Mike and Lil were so nice and offered to feed me. They were so hospitable I bedded down in my van and went at it another day! Well gotta go. Got 3 buckets of cons calling me!!  JT    Report

I done found out that I cant go this weekend I gotta work,but maybe the next if it aint to cold.JT    Report

I've got most the parts together and am waiting on my mask to come in the mail.Also waiting on my wetsuit to get here.Glad that there was lots of good places that wasnt too deep.JT    Report

It is close by and they have a little grill in there. I haven't eaten there but hear the food is good. We will be at the river on Sunday and at the Cotton Patch on Saturday this weekend. Just purchased some property on River Road about 6 months ago. Until I build (when ever this beach house sells) I have a pop up camper in the camp ground on River road 4 miles from the town of Uwharrie. Spent several days up there last week walking the creeks. Going back during black powder season for some hunting as well as panning I hope. Charles Oak Island, NC You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn’t move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn’t move and does, use the duct tape.    Report

Better drink plenty of coffee so you can keep the warm water flow going in your wetsuit.
