My wife and I got back last night from our (first) visit to Lonnie Seale (and Miner Mike) at the wonderful Alabama Gold Camp. We had arrived late Monday afternoon, just in time to stop by and introduce ourselves. Tuesday through Thursday we spent highbanking on Wesabolga Creek.
I am getting things put away (and concentrates panned!) and will post a write-up of our trip very soon, along with some photos.
For now, I'll just say that all the wonderful things that I had read about Lonnie and the property were really understated! I had panned in four western states and met some nice folks, but NOTHING like this trip. If you are anywhere in the southeast region, you owe it to yourself to visit the Alabama Gold Camp. Lonnie (and Miner Mike) were extremely friendly and helpful and made our visit an unforgettable one. We laughed and had fun the entire time. I learned so much from Lonnie's friendly and informative chats and hands-on lessons.
They have great equipment rentals, at very reasonable prices, and the personalized, friendly service and advice is worth a great deal to anyone. We rented a clean, roomy pop-up while we were there, for half the price of a motel room. Besides hanging out with the staff and campers, the campground keeps you right on the gold.
I have more to say and it will be soon, but the bottom line is:
Lonnie's where the gold ZAT!
Five stars in my book!

faaus, I told you that it's worth the trip!!! Hope you worked a good spot and got some of the good gold to go with the good time!!!
twig/al
Yes Twig you were right on the money! It was fantastic!
And Alabamasam, I hope that you make it. I did leave a red X on the water where the big nuggets are.
Thanks,
Mr.Enthusiam, We called the gold doctor and he has the shots for your fever!!!!!!!!!!! Glad you and your wife had a good time. Where are the gold pix? Heavy as those buckets are you must have at least 7 oz per bucket! Get to panning! Let us know at least 4 days ahead when you are coming, Iwill call the gold doc to have the shots ready. Just in case!
MinerMike HMFIC in charge of cutting and nailing
Hi Miner Mike!!
I'm still sifting and panning! I will get them posted ASAP!
I'll give you a week's notice, that way we can just set up a trauma center near the creek. Hope you all are making good progress again, now that this twitchin' gold zombie is out of your way. I haven't told or shown anyone yet the "special equipment" that can be custom made for them at the Camp (but I WILL!) I sure am enjoying mine!
