It was a Great Weekend at the river!! I guess I will be getting up and going to work tomorrow , didn't strike it rich in gold. Abearzz, Brian, John and his family, and me and my son were the campers and Will-D and his grandson came an spent Sunday with us. The water was up a little on Friday and fairly muddy. Everyone found some gold! My best day was on Saturday, I had atleast 10 pieces that would not go through a 20 mesh that I saw when cleaning up the dredge. I didn't find anything big enought to brag about but Brain found a couple of nice pieces. I think everyone had a good time! Maybe next time we can get a few more folks to come out and play.

Glad all went well. I thought for awhile the storm was going to change your plans.

We got lucky! The storm stayed to the east. We got a little rain on Friday AM then it cleared up for the rest of the weekend. Between when I was at the river Thursday at 2PM and Friday 9AM the river came up about 1 1/2 feet and went from clear to fairly muddy. The water was going back down all weekend. By today you could see good when the sun was out. You are going to have to come join us some weekend!

I'm glad you guys had a good time, I have enjoyed a week of pure hell! I NEVER want another ear infection! I wish I could've been there to take all of the color.:-) Oh well, as soon as this infection is totally healed up, I'll be back in the water. I'm gonna be out there this Saturday to make up for this lost week.:-)

Glad youall had a great time I was thinking of you while I was in Gulf Shores with the wife. We caught several red snappers. and I did carry the metal detector and got to use it on the beach for a few hours.and found a lot of coins but all were new no old stuf I am really looking foreward to a time we can all get together and find some gold.

Glad yall had fun. I was hoping to make it up there but didnt get to. I took my homemade dredge to a friends pond in Richmond county to test it out. It works,what a relief. But I do need to make some changes and tweaks to get it dialed in like I want it. My wife was fishing in one of their other ponds while I was playing with my dredge and in 5 hrs. she caught 31 fish.So we both had a good day and got to see old friends also.

This may be our last outing together for a while.My wife is taking her mother to the DR. tomm. for the results of her biopsy.Looks like mother-in-law has lung cancer.If all goes well maybe I can get away one weekend before the weather turns cold,I'd love to see some of that uwahrrie gold,and meet you all. JT

Hey Fellas,

I added a picture of some of that Uwharrie gold you keep hearing about.

I got really lucky and found 3.1 grams on my last day up there on the 3rd of Sept punching test holes.
